Very rarely Darjeeling does produce white teas and the Camellia sinensis leaf upon which Darjeeling teas are based does lend itself well to white teas. This white tea from the Goomtee garden is made using the traditional Chinese method of white tea production - downy white buds picked on only a few mornings of the year, withered and fired. It retains the well known muscatel character of Darjeeling yet is beautifully floral and smooth. Goomtee is a highly regarded garden in Darjeeling's Kurseong South valley near to the Jungpana and Castleton gardens. Brew for ten minutes.
