Mate

Mate is made from yerba mate which originates from Paraguay in South America. Mate is a laurel-like leaf that grows on a tree. It can be drunk hot or cold and is rich in minerals, vitamin C. Mate does contain caffeine - at a higher level than tea but at a somewhat lower than that of coffee. It has an easily appreciated herbal, grassy, green tea taste. To avoid bitterness infuse in hot water that has cooled after bringing to the boil.
