Earl Grey
1. Earl Grey

Buy 100% extra tea for only 90% extra cost!

Weight

Our Earl Grey is a traditional large leaf blend of China Keemun and Indian Darjeeling with natural oil of bergamot (an Italian citrus fruit). Created in honour of the 2nd Earl Grey in commemoration of a successful diplomatic mission to China there are conflicting stories as to the true origin of this now immensely popular blend. Our Earl Grey is a well balanced tea with the right proportion of bergamot oil giving a refreshing but not overpowering taste.

Most fragnant!  An Earl Grey with a delightful aroma. The very best.   Nayia Zachariou - Nicosia, Cyprus

Excellent!  Probably the best Earl Grey I have had so far. The bergamot is just the right strength. I like it strong with milk, but is also good without milk if brewed more lightly.   SS - Japan

Delightful  A very nice surprise compared to the more commercially mass produced Earl Grey teas. Delightfully soothing with an appropriate 'punch'   Michael - Surrey

Our Afternoon blend - Well chosen China and Indian teas are blended to give a light, fragrant liquor with a little smokiness. Once you have tried it you will not drink an average tea during the afternoon ever again! Can be drunk with or without milk. P G Wodehouse would have approved:

"The cup of tea on arrival at a country house is a thing which, as a rule, I particularly enjoy. I like the crackling logs, the shaded lights, the scent of buttered toast, the general atmosphere of leisured cosiness."

Customer Reviews

This was our first foray into 'good' teas and it hasn't disappointed. This darjeeling was so different to our usual reasonable quality shop bought loose leaf darjeeling; not bitter if left too long, clear taste of flavour, wonderfully refreshing. A really good tea!   Liz - Derby

Great tea  Darjeeling is probably the best of teas with a balance of freshness and depth and this tea does not disappoint. I have certainly not tasted better at this price range. I'd probably give it 4.5 stars if I could; because I can't I'm happy to go for 5.    -

An exquisite tea. I had never had such a good Darjeeling before, though I've sampled many. This is the tea that made understand that a whole world of better teas was waiting out there, unbeknown to me.   vcf -

Deep, earthy colour, aroma and taste  Characterised by a dark brown colour in the cup, this tea possesses deep, earthy colour, aroma and taste. Although it can be lightly steeped it still has a strong and slightly acidic flavour with an almost malty after taste.   S Parton - Worcester

Excellent first morning cuppa  I love this tea. It is fairly astringent so some will defintely add a dash of milk but that seems to add to the taste not detract from it. Really impressed with this.    -

A lovely flavoured green tea.  Gunpowder tea is one of our favourites and this is the best we have tasted for a long time. Full flavoured and refreshing but smooth and no bitter after taste like some we have had. We will buy more from Greys when we run out.   Laurence - Portugal

Perfect, especially after a hard day's work  I've began drinking gunpowder ca. 5 years ago, and still continue to do so today (about 1.5 litre a day!). I have tried many more green teas, but so far I like gunpowder best. Recently, I got it from Grey's, and I confirm that their stuff is of very good quality (tasty!).   Tomasz - Coventry

Pinhead Gunpowder is the classic China green tea  It is made of tightly rolled leaves and produces a pale yellow green tea, which is light and refreshing. As an introduction to green tea, this is perfect, as it is not too overpowering for the uninitiated.   Wuthering Alice -

An exquisite tea of the highest quality and a personal favourite, highly recommended.   Simon Parton - Worcester

Tian Mu Quing Ding is light, summery  It has a hint of delicate sweetness. Tian Mu Quing is highly prized, due to the fact that it is only picked for two weeks every year. This means that each cup is very, very special and should be savoured.   Wuthering Alice -

Japanese Sencha Fukujyu
1. Japanese Sencha Fukujyu

Buy 100% extra for only 90% extra cost!

Sencha is one of Japan's most popular teas. It has a mild flavour and is rich in vitamin C. Fukujyu is a superior grade of this tea. All the other natural compounds present also remain in this extremely healthy tea. In Japan the tea buds begin growing in April and this tea is picked early, whilst other teas are picked nearer maturity in July. Immediately after they are plucked they are steamed, rolled and then fired until they become like green needles. They make a splendid tea with a mixture of subtle sweetness and fresh green scent. Slightly cool the boiled water before making tea with Sencha.

The slightly smokey aroma is a delight as the tea is brewing. I would highly recommend this tea for anyone, and particularly those new to green teas. ENJOY!   Karl - West Yorkshire

Highly recommended  A light flavour, less acidic than most Sencha tea. It has a mild flavour and is rich in citamin C. All the other natural compounds present also remain in this extremely healthy tea. A wonderful green tea from Japan, highly recommended.   Simon Parton - Worcester

This exquisite oolong is light, producing a fragrant blossom-like cup with an aroma of orange flowers. The leaves are picked unusually young - so young that the buds are still a downy white. It requires many days to manufacture by hand having a beautiful, long twisted leaf. It is grown high on the fertile slopes of Mount Dung Ding, situated in the centre of Taiwan (Formosa). It should definitely be drunk without milk.
